Be prepared to stand out from the masses with our fabulous vintage
sailcloth windbreak. An essential item for all those in search
of the classic British beach holiday experience and updated by
us with a number of clever and useful features.
Every recycled sailcloth windbreak is completely unique. We
select only the softest sails we can find, each with it's own
character and colour. We then add sailcloth sleeves for the four
poles, reefing lines and a carry handle to make it easy to carry
rolled up and yes, an iPod pocket. The latter is positioned above
sand and sea level and has an ownership label printed on for
you to fill in. Probably wise to do so as you are likely to be
the envy of your beach friends.
The generous 1.5m length wooden poles are made locally for us
from English Ash and feature metal reinforcing rings on their
tops to prevent splitting if hammered in. To stop damage to the
sailcloth when driving the poles into the ground it is attached
to the poles with adjustable length lines. The lines then allow
the cloth to be adjusted to ground level however far the poles
are driven into the ground. The poles also don't slide out when
you're on the way to or from the beach.

Windbreak Mallet and carry bag
Our pole maker also produces a fantastic range of classic Beech
head mallets and we've commissioned our own version for use with
the windbreak. The octagonal head can be knocked off the shaft
with a simple tap of the shaft on the ground and then both the
windbreak and the mallet can be slid into the shoulder bag for
hands free carriage. The shoulder bag is of course made from
sailcloth and features a webbing shoulder strap and drawstring
closure.
