We welcome sails and wings for recycling from both individuals and commercial organisations.

Maybe you have a retired sail or wing gathering dust, mildew and mouse holes in your garage. Perhaps you have a pile of old sails cluttering your loft or a kite blown out beyond repair. An old balloon envelope that has failed its C of A or a Betts Test failure microlight wing? Almost certainly their final voyage will be to a landfill site. This is where Reefer come in! We'll arrange collection of your sails at no cost to yourselves and in due course they'll be 'upcycled' into a new role.

All individual supporters will receive a uniquely numbered shopper bag as a thank you from us. The bag is made from a recycled sail or wing and is not only stylish but very useful too. We've had lots of complimentary emails back from supporters who love the incredibly versatile bag. Whilst you can buy a similar shopper bag from us, supporter bags are uniquely personalised and colour coded to acknowledge the sail donation and cannot be bought at any price. Be the envy of all your friends and shop with pride!

If you are an individual we can collect your sail at no cost to you. We collect regularly from the South of the country as well as operating carbon neutral courier collection. If you are donating a flexwing we may be able to collect the wing complete but it's best if you can remove the sail from the frame which can be recycled at a local metalwork recycling centre. 

We can also help commercial organisations address sustainability. We're sometimes asked if we buy old sails. Sorry, we don't. The costs of collecting, processing and laundering an old sail means that by the time we get to the cutting stage it would have been cheaper to use brand new sailcloth off the roll. Many recycling industries charge for collecting and disposing of waste. We think we offer a more reasonable package, to individual and corporate supporters alike.
