We're very proud of this iconic design which is equally at home in the garden, on the beach, hill, field or boat.
Most of us remember deck chairs from our childhood with warped
frames and sweaty, hair-raising, static inducing plastic slings.
Maybe you question the source of cheaper options made from exotic
hardwood frames in the local superstore. Ours are in a different
class.
These chairs ooze quality while you snooze, with 4 increasingly
laid back positions for even the most chilled user. Our children
tested our prototype in front of the Playstation. Now they won't
give it back. The sturdy wooden frame is
made for us by another local, ethical company who employ people
with disabilities. As you'd expect from us there are no doubts
about the provenance of the timber; ours use durable, preservative
treated Beech grown in managed European forests. Why settle on
anything less?
To update this classic design to the 21st century we've added
some unique and clever features too to avoid those age old slapstick
comedy moments when you open it up or carry it around. All feature
our unique reefing line detail which is positioned to allow the
frame to be tied flat when not in use (with a reef knot of course!).
We've also added simple colour coded dots to one rigging joint
so it's easy to identify which bit goes where when you open it
up. Simple but effective.

The standard sling is made from
laundered heavy duty recycled sail cloth, triple stitched on
structural seams and feature a coloured Reefer '09' logo which
states the provenance of the sail.

Gallery Collection Deck Chairs
The slings of our Gallery Collection deck chairs are made
from recycled sail cloth from yachts, microlights, hang gliders
or paragliders. We carefully select the most interesting parts
of the sails to make a feature of letters and numbers. As a
result these deck chairs are unique and are only sold singularly.
