Here at Reefer we 'upcycle' retired sails into a diverse range of practical, stylish products for a sustainable modern lifestyle, each of which is totally unique.

All our products are made from rescued boat & windsurf sails, kites, paragliders, hang gliders and microlights as well as sailmaker's roll ends and offcuts. We source these sails from both individuals and commercial organisations who choose to recycle with us rather than add to inevitable landfill.

Recycling both sails and wings is a unique concept. These diverse sources of the sailcloth allow us to offer our products in a number of finishes to appeal to all generations of customers. We produce vintage 'Swallows and Amazons' style products from tan coloured sailcloth, nautically inspired classic white products and a more youthful range from the vibrant bright modern colours we source from extreme sport sails.

All our products are both designed and manufactured in Devon. We're passionate about supporting UK manufacturing and where possible source sub-components locally. We pride ourselves in ethical, sustainable manufacturing and refuse to follow the usual model of employing cheap far east contract production with questionable labour conditions and an associated large carbon footprint.

We're determined to set new standards with the concept of recycled consumer products. Whilst it would be much cheaper to blandly label our products as 'recycled' we believe that the story behind our products is an interesting feature that sets us apart from the competition. For that reason the branding on each of our products eludes to the provenance of the sail.

In addition to our annual sail number ('10' this year) or stencil logo we now stamp a number on the product which identifies the sail used to make it. You can search our unique 'Trace a sail' page on this website to discover in more detail the previous life of your Reefer product.
