Reference. Recap. Reason.... Reefer
We don't make sails, jackets or joints,
but we like to think we have a great idea. Recycling old sails
is a concept we have been thinking about for nearly a decade
and in late 2008 we finally found ourselves with the time and
space to develop our ideas fully.
We live in rural Devon, with
a house constantly full of children, friends, pets and mud. With
that in mind we have designed every one of our products not only
to withstand the rough and tumble of family life but also with
attention to clever design and an elegant colour palette. We
want our products to be practical to live with and fabulous to
look at too.
Mark has sailed and flown since a child and both
of us have sewn since our teens when Emma made clothes and Mark
made hang gliding equipment. After struggling to source genuinely
recycled sail products for our home and garden we decided to
design and make our own. Reefer was born!
We both believe passionately
in sustainable living and reducing waste. Ideals which Mark has
used as excuses to horde discarded and obsolete kit for over
20 years. It nearly broke his heart to chop up his British Championship
qualifying 1988 hang glider for prototyping some of our range.
Now our children loaf around in front of the Playstation on a
beanbag made from the sail and Mark longs for time to lie in
his hammock.
Whether you sail, fly or simply lounge we hope you
have time to enjoy a Reefer product. Thanks for your interest.
